25 years in arts leadership, programming & education

I believe in the arts to empower individuals and communities, and to enrich social and economic development.

Assisting cultural non-profits with structural and governance issues to program management and marketing.  My consulting work has included strategic planning, board development, branding and marketing, concept to completion arts programming, grant writing and fundraising, and creative entrepreneurship & design thinking curriculum development, delivery, and management.  An particular area of experience through two decades of directing a nationally known gallery is in program adjudication and curatorial work focusing on contemporary art and craft. 

My cultural consulting and arts administration career has been spent with organizations such as the Mountain Area Community Economic Development, Kentucky Arts Council, Lexington Art League, Morehead State University, Berea College, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Lexington Art League, Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsman, Columbus Museum of Art, Cincinnati Art Museum, Lowe Gallery at Syracuse University, and Cincinnati's Contemporary Art Center.

Committee and board work includes MSU Arts & Humanities Council (founding director), Americans for the Arts, Surface Design Association, and the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, and advocacy in the United State Senate for national arts funding.
